What are the benefits of couples therapy?
All couples can benefit from a “check-in” every now and then. Specifically, if you are finding that you could benefit from having conversations surrounding your love languages, communication style, conflict resolution styles, intimacy, sex life, infidelity, divorce, co-parenting, family values, extended family, holidays, grief and loss, identity, etc. you might want to seek our support.
We will guide you and your partner through such conversations in a neutral way where you can trust your Psychotherapist is not, “taking sides.”
What are the goals of couples therapy?
When we ask our couples what their goals are they are often related to having more passion, desire, appreciation and love for one another. If you are wanting to relight that figurative and literal candle, try something new and explore couples counseling.
You may also find that you just don’t know what your goals are of couples therapy yet and that’s okay. If you know that, tell us because all information is information.
Will you suggest we break-up?
ur trained Psychotherapists will guide you and your partner through some potentially difficult conversations and process different hurts, truths and situations.
Ultimately the destiny of your relationship is not for your Psychotherapist to decide and whether or not you will remain in your relationship will be a decision between couples to decide.
What can we expect?
In couples therapy you can expect for your therapist to gather information about all parties involved, discuss relationship history, mental health history, trauma history, family history, etc. This is done so your Psychotherapist can establish context and understand and have information about parties involved. This information gathering step is something that is continuous as you engage in talk-therapy, do suggested homework exercises outside of therapy.
