Biography
Hi, I’m Chaltu! I specialize in anti-oppressive practice. As a first-generation Oromo American, I know what it’s like to juggle different cultures and identities, it can be exhausting, and sometimes even funny in ways only we understand. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore, process, and just be yourself. I’m also a real person—quirky, fueled by coffee, and ready to sit with the hard stuff right alongside you. I especially love working with people who are navigating multiple cultural identities, the stress of microaggressions, major life transitions, trauma, or just the pressure of trying to “do it all.” Whether you want to laugh, cry, problem-solve, vent, or just talk through what’s on your mind, this space is yours.
Clinical Interests
I enjoy working with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and identity exploration. My work is informed by a growing understanding of how trauma and stress impact the nervous system, and I often incorporate psychoeducation and somatic tools to support emotional regulation and resilience.
Clinical Approach
My style is collaborative, grounded, and responsive. I move at the pace that feels right for the client—whether that’s creating space to build trust or working directly toward specific goals. I value open dialogue, transparency, and flexibility, and I strive to ensure clients feel supported, heard, and respected throughout the therapeutic process. I am patient with clients who are slower to warm up and can also work well with individuals who are assertive about their goals in therapy.
Hobbies
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking and watching true crime.
