Biography
Hello! I am Amanda. I am a bi-racial, African American identifying female. I chose Social Work because I have always been a helper, the one people could rely on when they needed someone to listen to them. I have always been super social; I have loved learning about other people and their life experiences. I love connecting with people, and being a therapist allows me to do that while being an asset to their personal growth. I have been a licensed social worker for 15 years and have vast experience in many different areas of social work, but I have always known that my goal was to be a therapist.
Clinical Interests
I enjoy working with adults, couples, and families. I enjoy watching people heal, grow, learn from their experiences, and find ways to apply what they have learned through therapy to their daily lives. I am able to establish rapport with people by allowing them the space to be themselves and by offering an active listening ear.
Clinical Approach
I will show up authentically with my clients. You can expect collaboration and active listening skills. My focus areas for therapy are narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, structural family therapy, and CBT. Sessions will go at your pace, and I will meet you where you are on your journey.
