Biography
My name is Elina and I am a first generation Armenian immigrant.
I believe everyone has a story to tell and it takes a lot of courage to tell your story. One of my priorities in therapy is making sure my clients feel safe, heard and seen. Whether my clients prefer working with someone a bit more directive or just need a place to vent, I tailor my therapy to fit your needs. I work really well with teenagers and adults as they are trying to figure out school, relationships, work and careers, parenting and all things life.
Clinical Interests
I support individuals who have experienced trauma. Trauma from relationships, childhood, workplace, etc. Trauma-informed work is very complex and it often requires a lot of courage and patience.
I won’t sit in session and ask you “how do you feel about that” instead, I will have a conversation with you and talk about what you are good at, what you aren’t that good at and where you ultimately want to be. I take a very, “you are the expert of your own life” approach, but I will support you every step of the way, for as long as it takes.
Clinical Approach
I value diversity, culture, and individualism and have a culturally sensitive approach. I am compassionate, non-judgmental, and caring and believe that the differences we all have is what makes this world beautiful. I like to really get to know the people I work with by asking questions to get to know your history, background, and concerns. Those I work with will speak freely and feel heard by me and I will do my best to make sure you feel comfortable and safe.
Together, we come up with the best goals to work on and I do my best to ensure those goals are met throughout therapy. I ask questions to help you self-discover the answers. I may also offer some feedback and suggestions based on the situation but tend to simply listen and allow you to come up with these things on your own.
Hobbies
I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family and friends.
