Biography

Porsche is a  cis-gender, Black Woman who believes we all have a story to tell. Porsche’s story begins in South Bend, Indiana where she was born and was raised until she was three years old where she, her mother and siblings relocated to Minnesota due to domestic violence in the home. From a very young age Porsche was surrounded by strong Women and the word “advocacy” would become foundational to the work she would set out to do.

Porsche had an early start in the mental health/advocacy world as her mother became an advocate for women survivors of domestic violence. Through this work, Porsche gained access to Ellen Pence (creator of the Duluth Model) beginning at age 12. The work Porsche did for Ellen was unrelated to advocacy, but the relationship Porsche had with Ellen and her partner Amanda over the years would set the tone for Porsche’s work-ethic and unrelenting passion for serving, advocating and celebrating women.

When Porsche is not in the therapy space you can find her venturing into adjacent mental health related work, collaborating with other professionals and identifying ways to “break the cycle.”

Clinical Approach

Therapy with Porsche may feel like a conversation with an old friend, as Porsche’s approach is very down to earth, humanistic and conversational. Porsche is strengths-based and empowering but not in ways that someone would feel invalidated, small or shamed. Instead, Porsche strives to understand the context from which a person is coming from, their experiences and draws curious questions from there. But she does not stop there, she is very much interested in your point of view and will ask questions that lead you to greater reflection and introspection. Because healing is not linear, Porsche believes healing can catch you by surprise in that it can happen in any moment, through any conversation at anytime. This is why therapy is so unique, your scabs and/or what’s currently troubling you have the space in therapy to exist, in their most raw and vulnerable forms, with someone you can trust. Oh, and with Porsche you are definitely going to laugh because life is not all good or all bad and she makes sure you talk about all the good stuff too.

Hobbies

Porsche finds joy in traveling and in all things food. You can find Porsche trying cuisines from around the world, putting her spin on a new recipe or hitting up the local taco joint. Additionally, Porsche loves spending intentional time with her family; partner, children and nieces and nephews!
